I am down another 2 pounds since Monday and still feeling good. I have tried to walk a couple times this week, but with the weather(it's been over 90) and my schedule, it's been a little difficult.

My menu items for this week have consisted of the following:

93% Fat Free Ground Beef
Shrimp Cocktail-(I use a tiny little bit of cocktail sauce even though I know it has a little sugar in it. It's less than a teaspoon that I use.)
Petite Sirloin-Fat trimmed off
Gortons Grilled Tilapia
KFC Grilled Chicken

My veggies for the week were green beans, spinach, and mushrooms.
My fruit for the week was apples and strawberries.

All in all a very good week, and I'm looking forward to continuing my loss over the weekend. Hopefully I will get a chance to walk a little more.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-81140602459735837132011-05-09T10:44:00.000-07:002011-05-09T10:57:50.255-07:00Week 2 and Down 15lbsI cannot believe how easy this has been to lose these first 15 pounds. My cravings are gone, I am drinking more water than I ever have in my life and my friends are commenting about my weight loss. While 15lbs may not seem like a lot to you, to me it is great because I have been struggling with losing this weight for about 5 years now. The HCG diet is very extreme and is a last resort option for me. However, with that said I can really feel it working. I have friends that have tried this diet and it worked for them so after hearing Dr. Oz give his blessing, I decided to give it a try. I couldn't be happier. A couple of things that are making it easier for me are my 2pm Hot Tea and Fruit breaks, meal preparation the night before work, and meal preparation in advance of events where I think there may be food that I cannot eat. I take a cooler to have in the car if there is any question. For me, preparation has been the key to making this work.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-66185703844400554042011-05-07T10:35:00.000-07:002011-05-07T10:47:18.026-07:00KFC on HCG diet?Who knew that KFC could be so healthy? For $5, you can get two pieces of KFC grilled chicken and a side of green beans. You also get a soda but since I don't drink soda, I sweet talked them into an extra side of green beans that I will save for a later meal. This entire plate of food is only 260 calories, so if you are wise with your dinner choices YES you can have KFC on the HCG diet. I have done this a couple of times lately because I have a very busy schedule and it is great for a meal on the run. So enjoy!!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-74951426560632726582011-05-02T09:00:00.000-07:002011-05-02T09:04:56.713-07:00Trying the HCG DietLast Monday, I started the HCG diet after reading a lot about it on the internet, talking to friends who have done it, and then seeing it on the Dr. Oz show. I know it's a somewhat controversial diet, but for me the benefits greatly outweigh the negatives. In the last week, I have lost 12 pounds and my motivation is soaring. I am drinking far more water than I ever have in my life, eating all natural foods(with the exception of the grissini breadsticks), and generally paying more attention to my body than I ever have. I will keep you updated on my progress as I go along.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-55451081808097204262009-04-02T17:38:00.000-07:002009-04-02T17:41:28.532-07:00Weighing In Wednesday on a ThursdaySorry I'm late guys, but it's been a rough week at work.

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-74919438856582711412009-03-30T16:47:00.000-07:002009-03-30T16:49:42.365-07:00Register to win a Yoplait Kids Get Active Prize Pack<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 291px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_mnB72kwAbCo/SdFakKfYIRI/AAAAAAAABFo/B-AvR9qBRMk/s320/yoplait.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5319132212239016210" />
Register to win one of three Yoplait Kids Get Active Prize Packs at SunEGrl Loves To Shop. Shortly after, I started noticing that the seed was going down so I thought that I had birds. Well I was wrong! I have squirrels, lots of fat squirrels eating all of the birdseed right out of the feeders. Well, I googled a way to get rid of them and one of the things that came up was to put vaseline on the shepherds hook. I've decided to give that a try, and when I get home I'm officially putting the squirrels on a diet!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-65656266674414641742009-03-30T08:13:00.000-07:002009-03-30T08:15:30.896-07:00First Weigh In On This SiteThe first weigh in on this site will be Wednesday morning. The guy who won lost 50lbs, the 2nd place person lost 25 pounds and the third place person lost 30 pounds. I missed 3rd place by 1 pound, so as they say on the show 1 pound can really make a difference. Boy was I bummed when I found that out. Anyway, they took really nice photos so as soon I get them I will post my before and after. The difference is really quite dramatic even though it is only 25 pounds.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-7918791034189099762009-03-26T16:13:00.000-07:002009-03-26T16:16:30.047-07:00Pound for Pound ChallengeIf you haven't already joined the Pound For Pound Challenge, please do so. If not, then you don't know what you missed. Tara Costa is a freaking machine!! All of the contestants were competing for immunity by pulling a car that weighed over a ton for a distance of a half mile. The challenge started out with Sione and Mike in the lead and Tara in 3rd. Even with an extra 257 pounds in her car, she pushed on to pass both Sione and Mike to win the challenge and win immunity. What about the Biggest Loser Diet plan? I have been using the South Beach plan for awhile along with some elements of Biggest Loser. A few variations that I am doing: I love milk so I do allow myself to have skim milk on occasion. I also eat an apple and cheese stick quite frequently as a snack. If I feel like I am going into a stall, I will also cut back to around 30-35 carbs/day for a few days and that usually breaks my stall. Anyone else using a similar plan?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-78398165269329872912009-03-26T14:06:00.001-07:002009-03-26T14:19:43.502-07:00Dining Out While Losing WeightDining Out while losing weight is difficult but it can be done. I will give you a couple of options that are working for me. As always, remember your portion controls and remember to keep those bad carbs away from the table.

Red Lobster-Wood Fire Grill Chicken, Shrimp, and Scallops 580 calories, 10grams of fat, and 58 carbs. Skip the rice pilaf and that will get rid of 180 calories and 34 grams of fat. I always eat mine with a side of broccoli for 45 calories and 6 grams of fat. It used to be really hard for me to skip the cheddar bay biscuits, but I can do that now with now problem. I just tell them not to bring them.
Salad with no croutons and Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing will fill you up without adding excess carbs and calories.

At Chili's my favorite meal is the Classic Sirloin with Broccoli and Mushrooms. I get it with no seasoned salt or any addons.

Stay in touch for more updates on dining out because you know I can't seem to stay home.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-23662496114009786252009-03-26T13:55:00.000-07:002009-03-26T13:58:34.196-07:00Biggest Loser Final TotalMy official loss for the Biggest Loser contest at the hospital was 25lbs and 10.5 inches. I wish I would have done better, but I started off really rough and really wasn't able to exercise as much as I would have liked. The winner of the contest lost a total of 50lbs. I was on the green team and our team alone lost 217lbs to become the winning team. Our prize for being on the winning team was a full makeover, including cut, color, and makeup. There is a ceremony being held on Saturday night and we are all going to be dressing up, so I will be sure to post an updated pic as soon as I get a copy.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-69531397772853428762009-03-22T15:30:00.000-07:002009-03-22T15:39:31.293-07:00Baked Tilapia and Green Bean CasseroleToday was my cooking day to help me get ready for the workweek ahead. I made a dish of Green Bean casserole minus the soy sauce and fried onions and a dish of baked tilapia with garlic butter sauce. Both dishes were low in fat, calories and carbs so I feel like I am on the right track.

The Green Bean Casserole had a bag of frozen green beans and a can of Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup. While the soup added a lot of taste it didn't add too many calories because when you split down the serving size, it came out to 20 calories and 2 carbs in addition to the carbs in green beans. I baked the tilapia with a butter cooking spray and herb seasoning so there weren't many additions there either. All in all it was quite yummy and very healthy. Only problem is that I'm still hungry. I don't know what it is about baked fish, but it's not very filling unless you eat a ton of it.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-62039477522969890992009-03-22T15:19:00.000-07:002009-03-22T15:24:54.006-07:00Roasted Asparagus with Balsamic Vinegar<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mnB72kwAbCo/Sca6hirwFHI/AAAAAAAABEg/VWUXNJULJ8g/s320/asparagus+w+balsamic+1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5316141495566210162" />
I've recently grown to love Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing on salads, and I thought why not try it with veggies. I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. This is a great side with lots of flavor.

Serves 4

1 pound asparagus, woody ends snapped off (it's best to peel the skin from the stem)
1 tablespoon olive oil (use your hands to coat the asparagus to ensure proper coverage)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
Salt & pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 450F. Measure olive oil and vinegar onto a rimmer baking sheet. Use a vegetable peeler to trim away some skin, in stripes, from the stem ends of the spears. I honestly feel that without the support from the other people on my team, that I might cave when things get to tough. Those of us on the Green Team, have been talking about getting together once a week even after it's over so that we still have the weigh in experience as well as the support from team members. For me it is all about accountability, and that means regular weigh ins so that I can see if my weight is starting to fluctuate in a bad way. Last week I skipped the weigh in, so I don't think that I will win the Biggest Loser prize of the FREE Cruise, but I still think I might be somewhere in the Top 5. Even with my parents here, I still managed to lose a couple of pounds.

So for those of you on a weight loss journey, we will begin weighing in here every Wednesday and as time progresses I will announce contests for the Biggest Losers. This Wednesday will be our initial weigh in and while I am sure we will probably have a fairly small turnout, I'm sure that as time goes on more people will join in. I'll keep you posted more on that.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-80192359643571327872009-03-20T17:34:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:35:52.319-07:00More Funny Diet PicsThought you might enjoy this...
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 202px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_mnB72kwAbCo/ScQ2QTVSzMI/AAAAAAAABEY/4thkDD3zKig/s320/diet_word_sm.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315433113899420866" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-66296055717336620182009-03-20T17:27:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:30:40.212-07:00Check out this other postOne more post for you to ponder. I think it's important to focus on the positive and not so much of the negative. One thing that I have been doing lately is "Thinking Myself Thin". I'll tell you a little more about that later, but take a look at this post and see if you have any mind body issues that might be overcome with time.

Take a look and let me know what you think.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-46576992325881949162009-03-20T17:25:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:26:47.349-07:00Check out this postCheck out my post on how to Supercharge Your Diet. All of these items are things that I am currently doing and things that I truly believe have helped me to make a change for the better. You have no idea how excited that makes me.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-68669429573284229762009-03-20T17:21:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:23:08.625-07:00Signs that are too funny<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 252px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mnB72kwAbCo/ScQzMX8Bc7I/AAAAAAAABEQ/49ld7HoD110/s320/bigbunsdiet.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5315429747881243570" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6645756221505315313.post-56289698012737030232009-03-20T17:08:00.000-07:002009-03-20T17:13:09.555-07:00Fad Diets: 3 Day DietI have actually used this one quite a lot. A few years back I used it because I was trying to fit into a bridesmaids dress and I needed to lose about 40 pounds. This helped me do it fast and it wasn't really too hard to follow. While the menu items can't be changed, the times of day can be. For example, for lunch there is a very small amount of food on the menu, but if you take some of the items from dinner it works just as well.

Instructions:

Drink 4 glasses of water or diet soda per day.

You can add herbs, salt, pepper, lemon, vinegar, Worcestershire, soy sauce, mustard & ketchup to your foods. (I try to keep the salt to a minimum, as I tend to retain water.)

DAY 1

BREAKFAST

Black Coffee or Tea w/1-2 packets of Sweet & Low or Equal
1/2 Grapefruit or Juice
1 Toast with 1 Tbsp.
